The Para Lions head into IFCPF World Championship quarter final after latest victory in Salou

CEREBRAL PALSY FOOTBALL

England’s Cerebral Palsy team finished their group games in style at the IFCPF World Championship with a 9-2 victory over Canada.

The Para Lions bounced back from their narrow defeat against Brazil on Tuesday with a sharp performance in Salou.

A first-half hat-trick from David Porcher (pictured above) along with strikes from James Blackwell and Sam Dewhirst set Andy Smith’s team on their way.

And there was a brace apiece for second-half substitutes Mason Dunbar and Ethan Day after the break to complete the scoring to secure second spot in their group behind Brazil, who beat Japan by 1-0 in their game.

The result means that England will now face Ukraine in the quarter-final on Saturday (8.30am GMT)
