The new Three Lions boss was at the national football centre for the first time on Monday
The Three Lions boss first arrived at the national football centre on Sunday evening, after attending the Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield earlier that day alongside assistant coach Anthony Barry and technical director John McDermott.
And they were joined at SGP by Tuchel’s newly-appointed backroom team in goalkeeping coach Henrique Hilario, performance coach Nico Mayer and analyst James Melbourne.
This included the Jimmy Armfield briefing room, the indoor Sir Alf Ramsey pitch, state-of-the-art gym and medical facilities and the Sir Bobby Charlton pitch, where he met head of grounds and estate Andy Gray and the venue’s grounds team.
During the tour, Tuchel also met members of the latest FA Pro Licence cohort including Ashley Cole, who will return to working alongside Lee Carsley with the England men’s under-21s this year after helping the Three Lions to promotion in the UEFA Nations League prior to Tuchel’s arrival.

Tuchel was then introduced to his new colleagues in the offices at St. George’s Park, where he gave a short introductory speech that included his own personal welcome and vision about the work to come.
Monday evening sees Tuchel making the trip to Molineux to watch Wolverhampton Wanderers play Nottingham Forest, which will be his fourth match in three days.
That schedule began on Saturday morning when Tuchel and Barry were taken by McDermott to Spurs Lodge, where the England squad often stay and train ahead of games at Wembley, to see the facilities there.
Tuchel and his team will spend Tuesday and Wednesday at St. George’s Park for a series of meetings with the various departments based at the football centre.
This will include MU21s head coach and former senior interim head coach Carsley to reflect on the autumn matches, members of the performance and analysis department and also the team operations department, to discuss March’s fixtures with Albania and Latvia and the 2026 World Cup European qualification programme.
Tuchel's first game in charge will be on Friday 21 March 2025, when the Three Lions host Albania at Wembley Stadium connected by EE, swiftly followed by Latvia on Monday 24 March at the same venue.
