ENGLAND TO PLAY SENEGAL AND WALES
Justin Cochrane is set to join Thomas Tuchel’s England men’s senior coaching team.
The highly-respected coach will support Three Lions’ camps alongside his full-time role working with the first team at Brentford.
Cochrane is no stranger to the England player pathway having been a head coach from MU15 through to MU17 level between 2018 to 2021; a period during which he was the youth development phase lead for the men’s national teams.
During his time at the FA, Cochrane also observed the senior set-up and was part of the travelling party for the 2019 UEFA U21 European Championship.
Prior to joining Brentford in June 2022, the Londoner was head of player development and coaching at Manchester United. The UEFA Pro Licence class of 2019 graduate also had coaching roles with Tottenham Hotspur’s academy and AFC Wimbledon’s first team.
Tuchel has added Cochrane as the final appointment to a trusted support team that includes assistant Anthony Barry, goalkeeping coach Henrique Hilário and performance coach Nicolas Mayer.
Cochrane is a young English coach with a well-regarded reputation for individual player development. Having experienced the varying demands of international, academy and first-team football, the 43 year old has previously worked with a number of the current senior squad.
