The Three Lions' squad met local families after their first training session on American soil

England stepped up their preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Tuesday, as they trained for the first time at their prep-camp base in Florida.

The Three Lions squad arrived in West Palm Beach on Monday, where they will be training for the next week and a half as well as playing two warm-up games in the Sunshine State against New Zealand and Costa Rica.

And they were given a warm welcome for their first outing at West Palm Beach Gardens, where the squad will be training during their stay close to Miami.

Around 150 guests were invited to watch Thomas Tuchel put his squad through their paces on the training pitch, including local children and families, youngsters from local soccer camps as well as staff from the venue and their families.

Following the session, Three Lions midfielder Jordan Henderson spoke of his anticipation for the competition which will be his fourth senior World Cup with England.

“It's exciting, but there's a lot of work to be done and we’re looking forward to getting going,” said the Brentford ace.

“We have to be ready to do all the invisible work, as the gaffer says, and be there to support each other because we all know the talent the squad has and what we can do and how we can hurt teams.

“Everybody knows what England means to me, because I’ve represented my country for my whole career, but I've worked very hard for the last few years to be in this position. I’ve made a lot of sacrifices and I’m very grateful to be here and be a part of it.”

Kobbie Mainoo is also looking forward to his first World Cup, after reclaiming his spot in the squad during the March internationals following a return to regular football with Manchester United in the second half of the season.

“It is very special, it's something I have dreamed of and I am sure all the players have since they were really young,” he said.

“I have wanted to play in a World Cup all my life, it's the biggest tournament in the world…the whole team is working hard and coming together nicely.”

Three Lions and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins also spoke of his joy at being named in Tuchel’s 26-man squad for the trip to North America, having missed out on the March internationals against Uruguay and Japan.

“Sometimes when something gets taken away from you, you realise how important it is and it puts fire in your belly and to show people what you can do,” he revealed.

“It was a case of proving to myself what I could do. The manager always had faith in me. So, it’s nice I could repay him with the performances and goals and to show I deserved to be here.

“I feel like, physically, I’m the best I’ve ever been and my form in front of goal is really good at the moment, so I’m feeling really strong and everyone has got a part to play in this competition whether it is early stages or latter stages.”
