Fans voted in their thousands to crown Alessia Russo England women’s Player of the Year 2023-24 connected by EE.

The forward was voted as the Lionesses fans' stand-out player ahead of Lauren James and Lucy Bronze who were second and third respectively.

Russo has started eleven times for the Lionesses and netted an impressive six goals throughout the 2023-24 season. She played a key role during England’s UEFA EURO 2025 qualification campaign starting six matches and scoring three goals, helping the team secure a spot at the EUROs in Switzerland next summer.

Her six-goal haul in the season also secured her the team’s top goalscorer award for 2023-24, presented by M&S Food.

Russo was surprised with the news by her brother and parents who made a visit St. George’s Park to hand over both awards. You can watch the surprise on Lionesses channels.

England are currently preparing for international fixtures against Germany at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Friday 25 October, followed by a trip to Coventry to face South Africa on Tuesday 29 October. Tickets for both matches are still available.
