Sarina Wiegman has named 25 players for England’s two home international fixtures this month against Germany at Wembley Stadium connected by EE and South Africa in Coventry.

Wiegman has recalled Aston Villa’s Lucy Parker for the first time in a year following injury as the Lionesses now place their full focus on preparing for next summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, after securing their qualification in the last international window.

Lotte Wubben-Moy and Lauren James return after missing July’s all-important qualifiers with the Republic of Ireland and Sweden due to injury. Goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse retains her place in the squad as her record-breaking NWSL season continues and Aggie Beever-Jones and Jessica Naz remain after impressing in the summer having moved across from the WU23s.

England will face the FIFA No4-ranked team in the world Germany on Friday 25 October [KO 19.30] at Wembley Stadium, evoking memories of the historic last meeting in July 2022 in the UEFA Women’s EURO final.

They will then meet South Africa at the Coventry Building Society Arena, the home of Coventry City, on Tuesday 29 October [KO 19.45]. The fixture will see the Lionesses return to the city after a 2-1 Arnold Clark Cup victory against Italy in February 2023. It is more than a decade since the two sides last met, with England securing a 1-0 win in February 2010 in the Cyprus Cup tournament.

Tickets for both fixtures are still available here, with fans encouraged to get behind the side.

Sarina Wiegman said: “This is an important international window for us and I can’t wait to get back together at St. George’s Park. The players and staff worked hard to automatically secure our place in next summer’s EURO, allowing all of our focus and attention to now go into making sure we’re ready for the tournament when it begins on 2 July.

“Qualifying directly for the finals provides us with a very valuable opportunity to play four friendlies this autumn and lay the foundations for next summer. We’ve been able to carefully select our opponents and we’ve got two exciting and different challenges this window.

“To play Germany at Wembley Stadium is very special and it’s so important that we get experience of executing our style of play against top opponents. Then South Africa in Coventry, a city and a stadium we know well, will test us in different ways. They showed in the World Cup in 2023 how quickly they are progressing and the high level they are at now. We’ll need to be at our very best on both evenings.

“The fans are always so brilliant whenever we play and tickets are still available for both games, so we’d love as much support as possible and another two memorable atmospheres.”

The Lionesses bring their 2024 campaign to a close against Olympic champions USA at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 30 November [17.20], before playing next summer’s EURO hosts Switzerland at Bramall Lane, the home of Sheffield United and scene of the Lionesses’ memorable EURO 2022 semi-final, on Tuesday 3 December [19.45]. With tickets available for both fixtures here.

The UEFA Women’s Nations League draw on Thursday 7 November will determine England’s opponents in the first half of 2025, with the UEFA Women’s EURO draw taking place on Monday 16 December.
