England women to play Spain at Wembley

The Lionesses will host their UEFA Women's Nations League game at the national stadium

England will take on Spain at Wembley Stadium connected by EE in their first home fixture of the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League on Wednesday 26 February [8pm GMT].

The highly-anticipated meeting - a rematch of the 2023 FIFA World Cup final – is a key contest in Group A3.

The world champions are also reigning UEFA Women’s Nations League holders and currently sit one place below England in third place in the FIFA world rankings.

Sarina Wiegman said: “It’s very exciting to start 2025 at home in this way. We always want to perform against the best and there’s no doubt that Spain as world champions and Nations League holders are one of the biggest challenges we can face. That’s how we will continue to develop and grow in a big year for us.

“The game is made even more special by the fact that it’s at Wembley, a place that holds so many memories for the team and our fans. We will need the fans support, and I hope they’re looking forward to what will be another big night under the lights at our home.”

The last time England met Spain on home soil was in Brighton for the UEFA EURO 2022 quarter-final

England have faced Spain three times in Wiegman’s reign with each side coming out on top once. The historic last meeting between the two nations was the 2023 FIFA World Cup final in Sydney, prior to that England emerged victorious in a memorable EURO 2022 quarter-final and it was honours even in February 2022 in the Arnold Clark Cup.
