Sarina Wiegman has named 24-players for England’s two highly-anticipated home international fixtures against the USA at Wembley Stadium connected by EE and Switzerland in Sheffield.

There are first senior international call-ups for Manchester City’s Laura Blindkilde Brown and Leicester City’s Ruby Mace, both of whom are making the step-up from the WU23s. Gabby George returns to the squad for the first time since November 2022. Niamh Charles, Lauren Hemp, Lauren James, Lucy Parker and Ella Toone all miss out due to injury.

The two fixtures conclude the year for the Lionesses and are important milestones as their preparations continue for next summer’s UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 tournament.

The eagerly-awaited meeting with Emma Hayes’ USA side takes place on Saturday 30 November [5.20pm GMT] at Wembley Stadium. The Olympic champions and FIFA No 1 ranked team return to Wembley after a memorable last meeting under the arch in October 2022, in which England emerged victorious by 2-1.

The Lionesses will then meet EURO 2025 hosts Switzerland at Bramall Lane, the home of Sheffield United, on Tuesday 3 December [KO 19.45]. The fixture with the Swiss will be the first meeting since a 4-0 victory in Zurich in June 2022 and sees the team return to the city of Sheffield for the first time since an unforgettable EURO semi-final triumph.

With both games selling quickly and nearly 80,000 tickets sold for the USA game, fans are encouraged to get their tickets now to avoid disappointment. Tickets for both fixtures are available here for the USA game and here for the Switzerland match.

“This is an important international window for us to continue our work to be ready for next summer’s EURO. Every minute of these two games and every moment spent together at St. George’s Park is to make sure we’re where we need to be when the tournament begins on 2 July," said Wiegman.

“As we continue our preparations we want to test ourselves against the very best and that’s why we have carefully selected the USA and Switzerland. They are two opponents who will challenge us in different ways this window and that’s exactly what we want.

“The USA need no introductions and to play them at Wembley Stadium in front of a packed home crowd again is going to be very special. Under Emma they’ve reached a really top level.

“Switzerland are improving all the time and their impressive victory against France last month shows what they are capable of and how much they continue to grow and develop. It’ll be nice to return to Sheffield, a stadium which gave us one of our most memorable moments together but our full focus is now on our next chapter as a team.”

England’s path to next summer’s EURO is now clearer after they were drawn in Group A3 of the UEFA Women’s Nations League alongside Spain, Belgium and Portugal. The UEFA Women’s EURO draw takes place on Monday 16 December.
