MEET THE ENGLAND MU21S

Here, the 21 year old answers 21 EURO-related questions as England prepare to defend their title at this year's UEFA EURO Finals.
1. You're packing your suitcase for the EUROs. What is one essential item that you're packing?
Teabags!
2. What is one luxury item you’re packing?
I’m not a very luxurious person but if I could, probably a bit of dark chocolate.
3. You’re boarding the plane to Slovakia. How do you like to pass the time on a plane journey?
I’d probably speak to Tommy [Simkin] and he’ll just put me to sleep! But I’d probably just start a new Netflix series – I’ve downloaded a few things.
4. Who do you usually sit with on the plane?
As I say, if I want a good nap then Tommy Simkin.
5. What is your favourite thing about staying in a hotel and what do you look for in a hotel?
A good bath. If I go to a hotel and there isn’t a bath and just a shower, I’m gutted. I like to have a good bath.

6. Who would you pick as a roommate?
Probably Jay Stansfield because he’s pretty chill and relaxed.
7. How do you spend your down-time on camp?
If there’s a pool table or table tennis, I like that sort of stuff and playing games.
8. What kind of character or personality would you say you are in the group?
I’m quite quiet and pretty chilled and relaxed.
9. What do you miss most from home when you’re away?
Apart from my family, going horseracing!
10. What is your favourite meal to eat on camp?
I like the pastas.
11. What is your pre-match routine?
I just chill out, go and have a look at the pitch, relax and listen to a bit of music.

12. What genre of music do you listen to before a game? Do you have a favourite song or album?
I like art pop – something that’s going to make me happy. I don’t like anything too dark or deep!
13. Who do you sit with on the bus journey to a game?
Whoever is happy to have me!
14. How do you recover after a game and what is your routine to wind down?
The day after a game, I try to switch off and not overly think about the match.
15. Who is your biggest supporter?
Probably the person who has helped me the most has been my dad but my grandad is always texting me because he keeps a close eye on anything and he knows everything before me.
16. Have you ever been to Slovakia before? What are you most looking forward to about visiting?
I’ve never been before but I’ve heard it’s nice weather so I can get a bit of a tan!
17. What do you enjoy most about being on camp?
Meeting some of the lads you don’t see across the whole season. It’s good to properly integrate yourself with the new lads. We’re all in the same sort of boat, at the same age, doing the same job.
18. What is your favourite memory representing England?
Probably scoring for the under-21s against Austria. That is my highlight.

19. What is your favourite memory as a fan supporting England?
It was 2018 in the World Cup and we went to a penalty shoot-out [against Colombia in the Round of 16] and I remember [Jordan] Pickford saved one. That was a good buzz watching then, us actually winning the penalty shoot-out.
20. What are three words to describe how you’re feeling heading into this tournament?
Excited, intrigued – to see what it’s like – and motivated.
21. How would you sum up your emotions when you pull on an England shirt and step on to the pitch?
It doesn’t feel really real. It’s sort of a ‘pinch me’ moment. You don’t think you’re ever going to do it but when you’re doing it, you don’t really believe it.
