'If I Could'...with Niamh Charles

Grace Clinton is the latest England international to face our feature 'If I Could...'.

The Lionesses midfielder answers a series of hypothetical questions, including the sport she'd choose if she wasn't a footballer, the one meal she would eat for the rest of her life and more.

Here is what she had to say.

If you could do a different job, what would it be?

"I really love coffee and coffee shops. I'd love to have my own or, if not, become a barista."

If you could cover one song, what would it be?

"I'm going to go for a DJ type of song because then it's obviously not as much on the vocal. I really like a song called Electric Feel. It's just really chilled and nice."

If you could reenact one moment in your career, what would it be?

"Walking out at Wembley for the first time. I was trying to take it in, with the flames and everything else going on. I'd love to have that moment again."

If you could play in a different position, which would it be?

"We were actually having that conversation recently. I think I'd try out centre-back, just because I would like to have so much time on the ball. I'd want it in a ball-dominant sense rather than having to defend. I'm terrible in goal so it definitely wouldn’t be that."

If you could score one type of goal, what would it be?

"Jude Bellingham's goal against Slovakia at EURO 2024 is one I'd love to score. In that moment as well, it was so dramatic and he was the hero."

If you could score one goal from history, which would it be?

"Aside from that Bellingham goal, I'd say Wayne Rooney for Manchester United and Manchester City. He was so far out and he got horizontal in the air. It's unbelievable, isn't it?"

If you could play one other sport professionally, what would it be?

"I think tennis would be really fun. I love playing it, I love watching it. I got really into Wimbledon earlier this year and I'd love to go."

If you could be a manager, would you wear a suit or tracksuit?

"I'd wear something a bit formal because it's an occasion. I do like being comfy and I would be comfy in between but you've got to look smart I think."

If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

"I always have pancakes. I can have them sweet, I can have them savoury. You get a lot of variety. They're always offered to me by the chefs so I can't turn them down. Lots of people find it a funny choice."

If you could live in the mind of one teammate, who would it be?

"Khiara Keating. Some of the stuff Khiara comes out with, I just don't know what goes on in her brain. I honestly don't know what she's thinking."

If you could star in one film, what would it be?

"I love a true story, that's the kind of film I watch. I reckon it would be a gangster one. I think that would be cool."

If you could live on a desert island with one teammate, who would it be?

"I'd probably go for Esme Morgan because she would keep me company and make me laugh. I also think she would be a help on the island. Unlike me, she would be a help."
