The Lionesses and Bayern Munich midfielder answers a series of questions about her England squad mates

MEET THE EURO 2025 SQUAD

As the Lionesses settle into their new surroundings in Switzerland ahead of UEFA Women's EURO 2025, we sat down with midfielder Georgia Stanway to take her through our Campmates quiz.

The midfielder follows in the footsteps of Grace Clinton, Niamh Charles, Jess Park, Lauren Hemp, Leah WilliamsonEsme Morgan and Keira Walsh in telling us all about her team-mates.

And you can read her answers below...

So Georgia, who’s your best mate on camp?

Keira and Leah, we’re a trio. It’s been like that for a long time now and we have a good relationship with each other so it works well and we enjoy it on camp because we don’t get to train or play with each other domestically so when we’re here we always have loads of fun.

Who’s the biggest joker?

I’d say Tooney is the joker in camp, she’s always pranking around or got something going on!

Who’s good for a quiet chat, maybe about something non-football related?

I enjoy talking to Lucy [Bronze] and she’s someone I can have a deep conversation with. She has a lot of experience in life, as well as football, and I enjoy a chat with her. If I’m feeling a certain way, she’s someone I can have a rant to and she’ll give me peace of mind or tell me I don’t need to worry about it.

Who’s first on the training pitch?

It's usually Beth Mead or Millie, especially when Rachel [Daly] was with us too as they used to play a little game. In terms of the best trainer, I enjoy the way Keira trains. The way she plays in small-sided games, possession or things like that, I really enjoy the way she moves the ball and how she is with her feet. She’s special.

Who would you find in the gym?

I’d say Maya. She works really hard on and off the pitch and she’s always in the gym trying to do something.

Who’s in charge of the music?

Leah! And she caters to all needs, which is the most important thing because we know how hard it is to please 30 people in a changing room. Alessia is also good when we’re on the bus, she has more chilled vibes, country vibes but Leah for a game day.

Who’s always on their phone?

I’d probably say Esme, because she’s a TikTok-er. So I wouldn’t say she’s on there in a bad way, she’s probably making a clever little video or something.

Who’s the most competitive?

Lucy Bronze, 100 per cent. I’d also put myself in there as we both absolutely hate losing. I know after games that we’ve lost, we’ve stayed in the dining room until the early hours of the morning talking about the match or different things we’re frustrated about. I’m just football-competitive, but some of the others outside of football I’d have to say Tooney. I know some of the United girls play games and sometimes they get heated if the same person loses all the time!

Who could fall asleep anywhere?

Me! A lot of people get frustrated with me because I fall asleep in a matter of seconds. Leah can also sleep pretty well. We used to room together so it’d work out pretty well as we’d sleep the whole time in the afternoon.

Who gets most pumped up for a game?

We’re quote a controlled team generally really. It used to be Mary [Earps], as she was very reactive with her expressions.

Who has most clutch in a game?

We have a few of them! Hempo’s up there, Alessia’s up there, Tooney’s up there, Chloe’s up there, so all of our forwards basically! Even when we’ve put Millie in the nine, she’s had an impact!
