Keira Walsh tells all about her Lionesses team-mates in our campmates quiz

As Lionesses star Keira Walsh gears up for her fourth major tournament, we sat down with the 28 year old before Sarina Wiegman's side head out to Switzerland for UEFA Women's EURO 2025.

The midfielder follows in the footsteps of Grace Clinton, Niamh Charles, Jess Park, Lauren Hemp, Leah Williamson and Esme Morgan in telling us all about her team-mates.

Who is your best friend in the camp?

Leah Williamson, and I’ll give a shout out to Georgia Stanway too as we come as a three. That’s pretty much been the case since the first camp we were on together.

Who’s the biggest joker in the camp?

I was talking about this the other day…I would’ve always said Jill Scott, but now she’s not here I’d have to say Tooney or Georgia. Jill was the pinnacle though!

Who’s good to pull for a quiet chat about anything, not necessarily football related?

Me and Alex [Greenwood] often go for a grown-up chat over a coffee. I could’ve also said Alex is one of my best mates too, as we’re really close. It’s great to have that too. While it’s good to have a time for laughing and joking, when you’re at a tournament and it’s really intense, where you’re playing or not playing and how the games are going, it’s sometimes important to take yourself away and have a chat with someone who has a listening ear or if you just want to talk about something other than football, that’s really important.

Who’s the keenest trainer?

I would say the ‘keepers. Mary [Earps] used to be very focused, in the gym first and then out for the warm-ups.

Who would you always find in the gym?

Alex Greenwood or Lucy Bronze. Alex is just dedicated and she really likes that side of the game, nutrition, recovery and the conditioning side of it. Lucy just likes to stay in shape and she’s just so professional.

Who’s in charge of the music?

Leah…she’s been the camp DJ since we’ve been in the senior squad. She’s very generous with the playlist, there’s a mix of everything and it’s not just one genre. Everyone needs feel pumped before a game, so everyone’s tastes are catered to and she’s really good at it.

Who would you most likely find on their phone?

Beth Mead. She’s always on FaceTime or texting, watching TikToks.

Who is the most competitive outside of football?

Tooney. If she doesn’t win, it’s not going well. I think she sometimes has to remove herself because she gets that annoyed. If they’re playing table tennis or something, she might not play anyone else if she loses!

Who could fall asleep anywhere?

Nikita Parris is one, I think she could fall asleep standing up! I’ve also seen Jess Carter asleep a few times, but Leah can also sleep. She’s a good napper, she could nap for five minutes, ten minutes. I don’t see the point in it but she has an alarm set for what seems like every minute throughout the day. It’s wild how many alarms she has.

Who has the most clutch in a game, who will come up with something?

Tooney. She just always scores a really important goal for us. She’s a top player and a top girl.
