Course type:

Duration:

12 months

About the programme

Across all levels of the women's game, coaches from ethnic minorities continue to be significantly underrepresented within key positions.

The FA is committed to changing that. This Placement Programme is designed to address the lack of diversity across the FA Women’s National League (FA WNL) and to ensure the diversity of the coaching teams are proportionate and reflective of the current game.

As part of our Coach Inclusion and Diversity Plan, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a group of coaches to gain invaluable experience and exposure to the FA WNL through a series of blended learning and developmental experiences.

Throughout this season-long programme, coaches will be provided with the confidence to go out to gain experience within a senior women’s environment.

Application criteria

We would welcome applications from intentional coaches from Black, Asian and Mixed heritage male and female backgrounds aspiring to work within the women’s senior game.

This development opportunity is an ideal progression for coaches who hold The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football or UEFA C Licence and are currently working within grassroots environments.

The programme

Delivered through a blended approach of online and face-to-face learning, the successful coaches will all receive:

  • 1-2-1 on pitch observation and feedback.
  • Off pitch mentoring and coach development.
  • Three bespoke events.
  • Access to specific FA WNL events.

Throughout the season, coaches will also be supported by The FA Women's High Performance Football Centre team.
