The central defender has been a regular for England throughout the age groups, representing and often captaining the Young Lions at MU16, MU17, MU19 and MU21s level before he earned his first senior call-up in November 2024.

Taylor had already had a taste of lifting silverware in an England shirt, after captaining the Young Lions to the UEFA U21 EURO title when they beat Spain in the 2023 Final.

Born and raised in Stockport, Taylor joined Manchester City at the age of six and progressed through their academy ranks, eventually reaching the FA Youth Cup Final in 2019 when the Blues lost against Liverpool before they went one better in 2020 by winning the competition.

With first-team opportunities at City limited, Harwood-Bellis enjoyed loan spells with Blackburn Rovers, Anderlecht, Stoke City and Burnley, where he was a regular in the team which won the EFL Championship title in 2023.

A loan move to Southampton followed and after helping the Saints to win promotion into the Premier League in 2024, a permanent transfer to St. Mary's was agreed and he began his first season in the top flight.
