County FA: Manchester FA
The midfielder has earned his stripes at England junior level, representing every age group from the under-16s through to the under-21s, before earning his first senior call-up in August 2024.
His father was a former Portugal U21 international, who was playing with Hendon before the family moved to the north-west where they settled and Angel grew up, joining Manchester United at the age of six.
After rising through United's academy, the London-born playmaker made ten appearances for the Red Devils, becoming the youngest player to represent them since Duncan Edwards in 1953 when he made his first-team debut aged 16.
A permanent move to Lille followed in 2020, with the French club initially sending him out on loan to Boavista in Portugal.
He has since established himself as a first-team regular for the Ligue 1 outfit, while continuing to impress internationally.
Gomes has won two titles with the Young Lions, winning the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2017 and the UEFA Under-21 European Championships in 2023.
