England men’s under-17s were beaten 1-0 by Scotland at the Excelsior Stadium.
The Young Lions kicked off their 2026 UEFA U17 EURO qualifying campaign with the first of three fixtures to be played north of the border.
With the two teams looking likely to share the spoils, it wasn’t until the 94th minute that the home side broke the deadlock through Luke Douglas.
And Charlie Holland was shown a red card late in the day for England as the full-time whistle was blown.
The Young Lions are back in action against Lithuania on Friday 31 October (11am GMT kick-off).
England then round off their trip to Scotland with a game against Sweden on Monday 3 November (3pm GMT kick-off).
