The Young Lionesses are up and running in their EURO qualifying campaign

England women’s under-17s got their 2026 UEFA Women’s Under-17 European Championship qualifying campaign off to a winning start with a 3-1 victory over Scotland.
The Young Lionesses won the first of their three EURO qualifiers taking place in Poland this month.
Bryony Brodie broke the deadlock for Kerri Welsh’s side late in the first half to give England the lead heading into the break at Stadion Miejski Rumii.
Later in the second half, Jane Oboavwoduo doubled the Young Lionesses’ advantage with just under half-an-hour remaining on the watch.
Scotland halved the deficit soon after but England added a third with five minutes left to play through substitute Sophia Burton.
The WU17s are back in action against mini-tournament hosts Poland on Saturday 11 October (4pm BST kick-off) before taking on Montenegro on Tuesday 14 October (1pm BST kick-off).
