Squad update: Anthony Gordon withdraws from England camp

10am, Sunday 23 March

Anthony Gordon has withdrawn from Three Lions camp having sustained an injury during Friday night's 2-0 win over Albania.

The forward has returned to Newcastle United for further assessment.

12pm, Thursday 20 March

Ronnie Edwards has joined England MU21s ahead of their upcoming fixtures against France (21 March) and Portugal (24 March).

The Southampton defender, who’s currently on loan at QPR and has made over 20 appearances for England MU19s and the Elite League squad, has now joined Lee Carsley’s squad for the first time as they continue preparations for this summer’s MU21 EURO in Slovakia.

Meanwhile, Sunderland defender Dennis Cirkin, Birmingham City striker Jay Stansfield, and Borussia Dortmund forward Jamie Gittens will play no part in the upcoming fixtures and will remain with their clubs for further assessment.

10am, Wednesday 19 March

Ra’ees Bangura-Williams (Millwall) has been called into the England men's Elite League squad following the withdrawal of Will Alves (Cardiff City, loan from Leicester City)

4.30pm, Tuesday 18 March

A senior squad of 26 players will be joined by MU21 trio Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Adam Wharton and Liam Delap for this afternoon's training session at St. George's Park.

Cole Palmer remains with Chelsea for further assessment on an injury sustained in training ahead of his club's fixture at Arsenal last Sunday.

2pm, Tuesday 18 March

Amario Cozier-Duberry (Blackburn Rovers, loan from Brighton) has been called into the England men's Elite League squad, following the withdrawal of George Earthy (Bristol City, loan from West Ham).

7.30pm, Sunday 16 March 

Morgan Gibbs-White has been added to the England squad. The Nottingham Forest midfielder will now report to St. George’s Park alongside the rest of the squad ahead of the Three Lions’ opening 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia at Wembley Stadium.

Gibbs-White, a 2023 UEFA U21 EURO winner, made his senior debut last September and has two caps to his name.

5pm, Friday 14 March

Both Freddy Bernal (Chelsea) and Josh Sonni-Lambie (Liverpool) have been called into the England MU18s squad for their games with Czechia, France and Portugal. Meanwhile Amin Nabizada has been withdrawn because of injury.
