England Football is well represented in the FIFPRO Men’s and Women’s World 11 lineups announced earlier today.
Five Lionesses players made the FIFPRO Women’s World 11, as voted for by over 7,000 women’s footballers.
Mary Earps, Lucy Bronze, Alex Greenwood, Keira Walsh and Lauren James all made the team of the year after making the initial 26-player shortlist.

As a result, England overtake the USA as the nation with the most all-time FIFPRO Women's World 11 appearances, with 22 players compared to the USA’s 20.
In making the lineup, Lionesses defender Lucy Bronze has also equalled France’s Wendie Renard’s record of seven appearances in the FIFPRO Women’s World 11, with Bronze featuring in the lineup for the sixth consecutive season. She also made the World 11 in 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
The lineup, which is decided exclusively by professional footballers, recognises players’ performances between 21 August 2023 to 10 August 2024. To qualify for a place in the World 11, players must have appeared in at least 20 official matches during that period.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham has also made the FIFPRO Men’s World 11.

No player received more votes from their peers than the 21 year old, who received 11,176 nominations in total after over 21,000 men’s footballers from 70 countries cast their votes for their team of the year.
Bellingham – who has today been nominated for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2024 – makes the World 11 for the second season running, having also made the lineup in 2023. In 2022, he made the final shortlist but missed out on a place in the final 11.
In order to meet the criteria for the FIFPRO Men’s World 11, players are judged on performances between 21 August 2023 and 14 July 2024. Players must have appeared in at least 30 official matches during that period.
