England players, coach and fan among nominees for The Best FIFA Awards

England Football coaches, players and a Lionesses fan have been nominated in categories for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2023.

The Lionesses’ historic run to a first Women’s World Cup final this summer and same impressive club form has seen Rachel Daly, Alex Greenwood, Lauren James and Keira Walsh all nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Player award.

Sarina Wiegman and Mary Earps are both in with a chance of retaining The Best FIFA Women’s Coach and The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper awards they won at the 2022 ceremony after being nominated once again, as is Chelsea boss Emma Hayes.

England men’s senior team midfielder Declan Rice is also up for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award, while the three nominees for The FIFA Fan Award includes England’s Fran Hurndall.

Two expert panels for men’s and women’s football decided on the nominees for the players’, goalkeepers’ and coaches’ awards, including the manager and captain of each national team.

The public can vote via FIFA+ and it will run until 11pm BST on Friday 6 October.
