Ellen White: I hope we are making the country proud
Ellen White hopes the England team’s performances are making the country proud but stressed there is still room to grow despite the emphatic 8-0 win over Norway.
White bagged a brace during Monday night’s game in Brighton as the Lionesses secured top spot in Group A with a game to spare.
But the players will not be resting on their laurels for Friday night’s final group game against Northern Ireland in Southampton.

White said: "Obviously it's a big statement 8-0. But for us we're staying cool and collected, we want to keep moving and keep growing as a team; growing from that first game against Austria and now this one before moving into the Northern Ireland game.
"We're focused on our own task but we're delighted to come away with 8-0 and a clean sheet.”
She continued: “The noise and the atmosphere is absolutely insane. I really hope everyone watching is super proud and behind us. We are so thankful for their support and hopefully we can continue to grow as a team and make everyone proud of us.”
White was replaced in the second half by Alessia Russo and the Manchester United star added her name to the scoresheet with her first goal in a senior tournament.
It was an unforgettable night for the players and fans in Brighton and Russo said: “I think after the game, when all the songs were on and everyone was singing, it was really special and one of those pinch-me moments.
“It was great to see all the fans out there and they were as loud as ever. It was amazing.”
Russo then followed White in stressing the players will be remaining fully focused ahead of Friday.
The 23-year-old said: “Obviously it is nice to have already gone through but we want to win every game in this tournament that we are faced with. So we will go back to the training pitch tomorrow and get back to it.”
