The experienced attacking midfielder was handed her senior England debut against Estonia in September 2015, having impressed with her rise through the international ranks and with both Birmingham City and Manchester City.
It was a memorable night in Tallinn too, as she came on and scored in an 8-0 win for Mark Sampson's side to kick-off her career with the Lionesses.
Prior to that, she'd been a part of the Young Lionesses squad who won the UEFA U19 EURO title in Belarus in 2009, before returning to the same tournament a year later when England came second after also featuring at the FIFA U20 World Cup, so had already amassed an enviable amount of international experience before her eventual promotion.
Born in Macclesfield in Cheshire, Christiansen was on the books of Everton as a youngster, but was picked up by Birmingham after attending university in the city and spent four years with the club.
She returned north to join Manchester City in 2014 and enjoyed a four-year stint there before making the move to France to join the all-conquering Olympique Lyonnais team.
After a season in eastern France, she returned back to where it all began in late 2019 by joining Everton and resuming her career in the Barclays FA WSL.
