Erica Parkinson

Erica Meg Parkinson received her first senior England call-up in March 2026 at the age of 17, ahead of the 2027 World Cup qualifiers with Spain and Iceland, having made her way through the development pathway with the Young Lionesses.

 

A creative midfielder, Parkinson has had a fascinating journey which saw her spend the early part of her life in Singapore before her family relocated to Portugal after her brother Denis was signed by the youth academy of Porto.

 

And it didn't take long before it was Erica who started catching the eye on the football field too, resulting in her being signed by Portuguese first division side Valadares Gaia where she penned her first professional deal in 2024.

 

With an English father and a Japanese mother, Parkinson grew up surrounded by different cultures, speaks four languages and could represent a number of countries at international level such as Japan, Singapore and Portugal.

 

But with caps at WU16, WU17, WU19 and WU23s for England, including appearances at the UEFA Women's U17 EURO Finals and FIFA Women's U17 World Cup in 2024, she will be aiming to cement her place in the senior squad.
