Steven Gerrard

- Steven Gerrard made his England debut in May 2000 in a friendly against Ukraine under Kevin Keegan. His second game was at the Euros as a substitute against Germany and his third was starting Sven-Goran Eriksson’s first game against Finland. Gerrard was unbeaten in his first 21 matches for the Three Lions, with only Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ever having a longer unbeaten start as an England player.

- Gerrard scored in 18 matches for England and never ended on the losing side (W14 D4), the most games a player has scored in for the Three Lions without losing in the history of the national team. His first goal was in England’s 5-1 win over Germany in September 2001 and his final goal came in October 2013 against Poland in a World Cup qualifier at Wembley.

- All 114 of Gerrard’s caps came while as a Liverpool player, the most won by a player for a single team.

- Gerrard featured in 21 games at major tournaments for England, with only Ashley Cole playing in more (22). However, Gerrard is one of only three players to feature at six major tournaments, along with Wayne Rooney and Sol Campbell. Gerrard played at three Euros (2000, 2004, 2012) and three World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014).

- Only Michael Owen has scored more goals for England while playing their club football for Liverpool than Gerrard.
