The striker made his Three Lions debut in November 2017 in a game with Brazil, as England began their preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but had to wait until October 2024 for his next call-up to the senior set-up when he was picked by interim head coach Lee Carsley on the back of his form with Tottenham Hotspur.

Born in Reading but raised in Basingstoke, Solanke was a regular goalscorer for England at all levels from the MU16s through to the MU21s during the early stages of his career.

He's also experienced that winning feeling at international level. He was a key member of the England MU17 team which won the EUROs in Malta in 2014, where he was also joint top scorer and was also named as England's youth player of the year.

Three years later, he was he spearhead of the England MU20s team which won the FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea, when he scored four goals to help the Young Lions to a memorable title and was also named as the Golden Ball winner for being player of the tournament.

His record with the MU20s saw him bag a total of ten goals in 15 caps and just a few months after his World Cup exploits, he was called into the England senior squad by Gareth Southgate and came on as a second-half substitute against Brazil at Wembley.

Following that cap, he joined the MU21s squad and was part of the group which reached the 2019 U21 EURO Finals in Italy, with his record at that level seeing him claim nine goals in 18 games.

On a domestic front, after coming through the academy ranks with Chelsea, he moved to Liverpool for a two-year spell at Anfield and then onto AFC Bournemouth in January 2019, where he found an opportunity for regular first-team football and the goals began to flow before Spurs made their move in the summer of 2024.
