ENGLAND MEN'S ELITE LEAGUE SQUAD: FIND OUT MORE
England men’s Elite League Squad extended their unbeaten streak after playing out a 1-1 draw against Portugal at the Municipal Stadium.
With Ben Futcher returning as head coach following his interim spell with the men’s under-21s last autumn, the Young Lions were back in action in the EURO Elite League this afternoon.
England, who are yet to be defeated during the 2024-25 season, took an early lead. With just seven minutes on the watch, Tottenham Hotspur forward Dane Scarlett made it 1-0 to the visitors.
Portugal hit back with just over half-an-hour played. Skipper Diogo Monteiro, who plays for Leeds United at club level, equalised for the hosts with 32 minutes gone and half time approaching. Following the restart, the two teams played out a goalless second half as it finished all square.
And the Young Lions will cross the border into Spain to take on Switzerland at the Marbella Football Centre on Monday 24 March (5pm GMT).
