Report: England MU19s 3-1 Iceland

The Young Lions hosted Iceland at St. George's Park as they make final preparations for UEFA U19 EURO

England men's under-19s will head to Romania for this summer's UEFA U19 EURO on the back of a 3-1 victory over Iceland.

Will Antwi's squad have been in training at St. George's this week and rounded off their preparations with a behind-closed-doors match against Iceland.

And with the squad were given a good workout for the tournament, with minutes shared around the team due to the roll-on-off substitutes which were agreed to by both teams.

The Young Lions took the lead through Kadan Young before Tom Watson, fresh from his goal at Wembley to seal Sunderland's promotion in the Championship play-off final and subsequent move to Brighton & Hove Albion, doubled the advantage.

In the second half, England restored their two-goal advantage when Mikey Moore made it 3-1.

England will now head to Romania, where they open their campaign against Norway on Saturday 14 June at the Ilie Oana Stadium in Ploiesti (3pm BST).

Then it’s on to a match with Germany on Tuesday 17 June (6pm BST) at the Arcul de Triumf Stadium in Bucharest, before the Young Lions remain in the capital for their final group match against the Netherlands on Friday 20 June (6pm BST) at the Giulesti Stadium.

The top two nations from the group tables will then progress to the semi-finals which will be held on Monday 23 June, with the final scheduled for Thursday 26 June.
