Harry Maguire hailed Harry Kane as a "magnificent, world-class player" when reflecting on his skipper reaching 100 England caps.

Kane has broken a string of other appearance records during his Three Lions career and celebrated his achievement by scoring twice in Tuesday's 2-0 Nations League victory over Finland.

He has played much of his international football alongside Maguire, who was full of praise for his captain.

He said: "I think, first and foremost, one of the biggest attributes Harry has is availability. He's always been there for England and performing when we need him.

"He leads by example on and off the pitch and he's a great person to have around the dressing room. He's a magnificent, world-class player. He proves it year after year and his attitude to training is the reason why.

"The way he trains gives him the foundation to do what he does on matchday. He is relentless with his finishing in training, he gets angry if he misses one and he takes that determination into games.

"Watching him train, you see why he scores so many goals."

Maguire sees no reason why Kane cannot continue to rack up international appearances, with so much to aim for over the next few years in an England shirt.

He said: "He's still a huge figure for us. He's great to have around the place and he's a big leader.

"To win major tournaments you need experience, there's no doubt about that. 'H' will be there, helping the boys out, and he's obviously got so much more to give on the field as well."

The Three Lions are next in action against Greece on 10 October, with tickets on sale now.
