The England skipper was delighted to have secured qualification for EURO 2025 and believes the team can keep growing

Match Report: Sweden 0-0 England

Leah Williamson admitted England didn't make it easy for themselves but was pleased to have secured qualification for EURO 2025.

The Lionesses needed a draw from their qualifier in Sweden to secure their spot at the tournament and managed exactly that, seeing out a 0-0 draw.

Sarina Wiegman's side were on top in the first half and Williamson was part of a strong defensive effort in the second.

She said: "We said it the other day, we don’t make it easy for ourselves when we don’t score because then those moments become even nervier.

"But again, we’ve seen out a game. It was the same in France last month. These are tough fixtures to come away from, especially in a stadium like this.

"It’s small, Swedish fans are loud, and they were playing really well. It’s a good draw.

"I think in the first half I really enjoyed it. We played really well as a team. I just wish we’d rewarded ourselves with a goal.

"But I felt good. It’s the end of the season, it’s hard."

The skipper is confident there is growth in this England team as they gear up for next summer's tournament in Switzerland.

She said: "There’s a lot more to come. We took care of business, we qualified, which means we can prepare now and we can get the most out of ourselves ahead of next year.

"It is the same story as ahead of the last Euros. We all know how that went and I think everybody wants more."
