EURO draws for England MU17s and MU19s

The draws for the next stage of the 2025 tournaments and the first rounds of the 2026 edition were made on Thursday

The draws for the UEFA U19 and U17 EURO elite qualifying rounds for 2025 were made on Thursday morning at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon.

Following both teams' progress from their first round qualifying stage this autumn, they now know who they will face at the second stage as they bid to reach next summer's finals.

We also had the draws for next season's first qualifying rounds for both the MU19s and MU17s, with all details below.

England men's under-19s

Will Antwi's Young Lions will play Portugal, Wales and Turkiye in the elite qualifying round of the UEFA U19 EURO 2025 competition.

England's games will take place on 19, 22 and 25 March 2025, with Wales hosting the games.

With nations playing for a place at the 2025 U19 EURO Finals in Romania next summer, there were seven groups drawn out with fixtures to take place in the March 2025 international window. The seven group winners will then join hosts Romania for the Finals.

2025-26 first qualifying round draw

The 2025-26 UEFA U19 EURO qualifying round draw for the 2025-26 season was also made on Thursday, with England set to play Scotland, Latvia and Lithuania as they set out to reach the Finals in Wales in the summer of 2026.

The top two teams in each group as well as the best third-placed team will join top seeds Spain in the elite round in spring 2026, which will produce the seven nations joining Wales in the summer finals.

These matches will be played in Lithuania, with games scheduled for 12, 15 and 18 November 2025.

Men's under-17s

Neil Ryan's MU17s will play Northern Ireland, Slovenia and Israel in their second qualifying round in League A and Group 7, with games to be hosted in England on 19, 22 and 25 March 2025.

For the MU17s, there's a new format for this season's second round stage with 28 teams playing for a place at the Finals in Albania next summer and split into two-tiered leagues A and B which will also determine qualification for future MU19 tournaments.

The seven winners of the groups in League A will join hosts Albania in the finals between 19 May and 1 June. Meanwhile the fourth-placed teams in League A's groups will be relegated to League B.

This League A stage also acts as the European qualifiers for the next FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar later in 2025 with further details to follow.

Teams in League B are playing to win promotion to League A ahead of 2026-27 U19 EURO qualifying.

2025-26 first qualifying round draw

The 2025-26 UEFA U17 EURO first round draw for 2025-26 was also made as the road to the eight-team finals in Estonia starts out, with England to face Sweden, Lithuania and Scotland in the early stages of next season. This group will be hosted in Scotland.

On completion of this stage, the 14 group winners and 14 runners-up qualify for round 2 of League A and the remaining 26 teams participate in round 2 League B.

Teams in round 2 League A will compete in spring 2026 for seven places alongside hosts Estonia in the final tournament, as well as places in the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.

Teams in both round 2 leagues will play for promotion and relegation between the leagues ahead of 2027-28 U19 EURO round one.
