Fara Williams holds the current record of appearances for the England women's senior national team, after amassing 172 caps for the Lionesses during her career.
The midfielder represented England across 18 years, after making her debut against Portugal in November 2001 when she was just 17 years old.
She went on to feature in three World Cups (2007, 2011 and 2015) and four EURO Finals (2005, 2009, 2013 and 2017), as she became a key player under the stewardship of both Hope Powell and Mark Sampson.
She is eleven caps clear of second-placed Jill Scott, who partnered Williams in midfield for much of her international career before she bowed out following England's UEFA EURO title winning success in 2022
And another player who was a part of their era with the team sits in third spot, with Karen Carney having won 144 caps in her career.
