England's victorious EURO 2022 squad were able to celebrate their historic title for a second time on Monday afternoon at London's Trafalgar Square.

The Lionesses were greeted by 7000 supporters in the capital, following on from Sunday's victory over Germany in the EURO Final at Wembley Stadium.

And after being entertained by the team on the pitch over the last month, the crowd were treated to their celebrations and one or two special renditions of the squad's EURO 2022 soundtrack.

After leaving their EURO base at the Lensbury Resort in south-west London earlier in the morning, the players and staff travelled into the capital where they were met by former Lionesses Alex Scott and introduced to the adoring crowd.

Head coach Sarina Wiegman was first to speak as she reflected on the hours since the final whistle at Wembley and what it means, before captain Leah Williamson paid her own tribute to the boss and spoke of the legacy which the squad hope they have left for young girls across England and beyond.

The fans then heard from both of England's goalscoring heroes in Ella Toone and Chloe Kelly, whose strikes at Wembley sealed a first competitive major title for the Lionesses at senior level.

Toone admitted she still doesn't know how she remained so calm before chipping home England's opening game before revealing she "taught" Harry Kane the same skill, after the men's captain had commented on her finish.

And Scott was then able to reminisce with two of her own former England teammates in Lucy Bronze and Jill Scott before goalkeeper Mary Earps came on the mic.

With the EURO 2022 trophy in tow, Williamson then lifted it again much to the joy of those in the crowd before the fun ramped up as the full squad linked together to produce a performance of anthem 'Sweet Caroline' before moving on to a Rachel Daly-led 'River Deep, Mountain High'.

Eventually, the players had to be ushered off stage to continue their celebrations while the throng of fans dispersed back into the London hubbub undoubtedly with the same intentions.

And England fans will be able to see the Lionesses again soon, as they will be back in action when they return to World Cup qualifying action in September. Tickets for the game with Luxembourg on Tuesday 6 September at Stoke City are on sale now.
