Raz not dwelling on past
Raheem Sterling sits down to talk Germany and what it would mean to win a trophy with England
CHECK OUT RAHEEM'S ENGLAND PROFILE
Raheem Sterling says he won’t be thinking about the rivalry when England step out onto the Wembley pitch to face Germany in their last-16 clash next week.
The 26 year old has been Gareth Southgate’s star man at the tournament so far, scoring both winners against Croatia and Czech Republic and will be hoping to do the same against the Germans.
Having met seven times at major tournaments, the fixture is steeped in history but Sterling knows better than to dwell on the past and will be focused solely on the present moment when Tuesday rolls around.
“I don’t really get caught up in the rivalry at all. At the end of the day we’re going to play football and the objective is to win and for me it’s to score and enjoy it,” Sterling said during Thursday’s Lions’ Den connected by EE.
“I don’t really think about the past, whatever has happened has happened - the only thing we can do is be in the present.
“If we’re going to win this tournament we will need a big performance and that is what we’ll try and do against Germany.”

Raheem Sterling talks Germany and winning trophies with England
It’s no secret that Sterling feels at home at Wembley, having grown up just around the corner from the stadium, and he’s been in fine form for his country of late scoring 14 times in 19 games.
And with everything he’s already achieved in his career, the Manchester City man believes that winning silverware with England would top the lot.
Winning something with the national team would be the greatest achievement for this team,” he added. “When you win stuff with your club it’s great but this is on a bigger scale.
“Representing the nation, and winning something for them would be the biggest thing in my career yet.”
Sterling rounded off his appearance on the show by winning super-fan Felix a signed shirt and a signed ball in the basketball challenge.
